Rachel Pontier

Bio:

Rachel spent her formative years among the amber waves of grain in Iowa but always dreamed of seeing what God was doing in other parts of the world. After graduating from college in 2005, she promptly left the country and spent four years as a missionary teacher in Managua, Nicaragua.  She left Nicaragua to go to seminary, but she always longed to return to the mission field.  After earning her master’s degree, she spent time working for churches in St. Louis and Houston and finally landed at First Presbyterian in Macon.  It was through her work at FPC that she was introduced to City Church Manchester and their mission of spreading the gospel in the UK.  Through much prayer and guidance, she is planning to return to the mission field and join the staff at City Church Manchester as their Women’s Worker starting in August 2023.  Her goal is to use all that she has learned in her years of ministry to serve alongside the men and women who are making disciples and reaching the UK for Christ.
Will you join her in this Kingdom work?

The Role at City Church Manchester:

Discipleship: Rachel will follow Christ’s call in the Great Commission by teaching the women at City Church how to study and teach the Bible, grow in their relationship with Christ and ultimately learn to become more like Him.

Equipping: In Ephesians 4, Paul tells us that God has given the church leaders to “equip the saints for the work of ministry.”  Rachel will serve alongside the staff at City Church to equip and encourage women in their faith and practice while helping build a strategic vision for equipping the saints at other church plants across the UK.

Strategic Planning: Rachel will help coordinate and organize church partner visits and engage with other churches in Manchester as well as those affiliated with the Northern Gospel Project.
